Cal Trans Improvement Project on Sierra Highway

Dear Bishop Creek Water Association Member,

Subject: CalTrans Improvement Project on Sierra Highway
Beginning mid to late December through the January/February time period the CalTrans contractor constructing improvements on Sierra Highway will be working on the north side of highway. The contractor’s work will consist of replacing the culvert conveying Matlick Ditch water that parallels Sierra Highway. This outage associated with this work will require drying up the Matlick Ditch and will affect your property. If you have surface water needs during this outage period, you will need to make alternate arrangements. Also, since flow in the Matlick ditch in your neighborhood has seen a reduced capacity in recent years, resulting in lower than historic flows, this outage will provide a perfect opportunity to clean the ditch on your property and make any needed repairs. Flow is scheduled to return to normal prior to irrigation season. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this work is being done.
These improvements will result in a much more secure and manageable distribution system for BCWA members on the Matlick Ditch. As the contractors work schedule becomes more clear the BCWA will post the details on the website, BishopCreekWater.org Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
If you have any questions regarding the project please contact one of the BCWA Board members or the BCWA Watermaster at (760) 920-7981.

Sincerely,
Board of Trustees
